What Endures is an adorable and sweet novel about Megan and Jason who are struggling with their relationship after Jason loses all his memories. At first, Megan doesn't tell Jason about their past: the marriage, divorce, and subsequent re-engagement. She tells Jason that they've been friends forever.
Megan wants to be with the man she loves, yet she doesn't want to force him into a relationship that he may not want anymore. Megan was very sweet and stubborn. She insisted on doing things her way and was a shrewd bargainer. I loved her. Seeing her struggle with Jason's memory loss gave a different perspective to this occurrence. Most books depicting characters with memory loss are from the victim's POV, so it was nice to get this outside view, to see how it affects everybody around the victim, too.
Jason is irritable at first. But, come on, who wouldn't be after they've lost fifteen years of their life. He just wants to gain all his memories back. But through it all, he has Megan. She's the rock in his chaotic life, where his parents are not. Jason distrusts his step-brother Trevor because his onlyy memories of him are of them fighting constantly. Jason also struggles with his career. does he really want to play baseball for the rest of his life? Was he ever really that dedicated to the sport or did he do it for his family?
Trevor is pretty awesome. I hope we get a story about him. He's there for Jason, even when Jason tries to push him away. He's very sweet and cares for both Megan and Jason and wants them both to be happy.
What Endures is a great book for those of you looking for a romantic story about everlasting love and love conquering all.
