Laney hasn't dated since high school. But she has guys all figured out. So she coaches her friends through relationships. Laney is reluctant, especially as she gets to know him and he's really a sweet guy. She believes they could be friends. Not in a relationship, though. Because Laney is in love with her ex from high school. And she won't stop punishing herself for what she did. Laney is confident and caring. She'll do anything for her friends. She has trouble opening up to people.
Lachlan is Australian. (Yes you read that right. There is a hot foreign guy in this book. *plugs ears as girlish screams erupt*) He's torn up about what happened between him and Laney. He's been waiting for her to call him for years, but it hasn't happened. The last thing he expected was to run into her while he was in the states for his best friend's wedding, but fate brought them together. Lachlan is determined and knows what he wants: a second chance with Laney. Even if it hurts to look at her sometimes, he's determined to fix her and their relationship.
I loved the book. My only problem was the ending felt sort of abrupt. Laney suddenly decides to forgive herself and give Lachlan a try without any explanation. But at least she does, I guess.
Where You Are are for romance readers who love Australian accents, hot guys with baking skills, and a past that tore two people apart.
